The war against clevage continues

Why does everything close so darn early in Alpharetta. I'm staying up here with my mom for a few days and all the restaurants close by 10pm. Except for the Cheesecake Factory. Since Mama and I got off to a late start that's where we ended up. Well, TGIF was also open but I'm perfectly willing to spend and extra ten or fifteen dollars for the better food. At least I though it would be better. My mom's pasta was great and she loved it. I just got a chicken salad sandwich because I wanted something light. Being such a reknowned restaurant I figured they would have really fantastic chicken salad and I really really love good chicken salad.

But I'm not a huge mayonaise person. I like light and refreshing chicken salad. Preferably with some Greek yogurt mixed in. I took one bite of this sandwich and all I could taste was mayo. More mayo than chicken! I think a fast-food burger has less fat. Shame on you Cheesecake Factory. Shame.

Murphy's law as applied to knitting

Last night I finally finished the knitted camisole that I've been working on for the past few months. I followed the directions, made sure my stitches were even, constantly double checked it. But somehow it still came out all fucked up. I think the yarn I used was too heavy and stretchy. Yay. So I'm starting on another style of camisole, this time with different yarn.

But still, this was my first completed article of clothing. And it came out awful. Le sigh. Better luck next time I hope.

Culinary adventures.

There are few foods I enjoy more than my homemade strawberry-mango-yogurt smoothie. I'm slurping one down down and despite feeling like crap today it still makes me smile. Yeah, its that yummy. 1 cup frozen mango, 1/2 cup fresh strawberries, and about a cur of yogurt and then a small splash of milk. Paradise in four ingredients.

Once I finish this I embark upon the journey of making beef bourguignon. Julia Child's beef bourguignon. I'm so excited. It takes almost three hours to make but I already know it will be worth it. I'll post pictures when I'm done if it doesn't all get eaten in five minutes.

I'm strange

Not just in the oh-so-goth way, but in the sense that my body does things that are downright odd and this causes doctors to just shrug and insist that there isn't really anything wrong with me. It very annoying. Especially since this oddness makes me prone to experiencing some of the more rare side-effects. Like the fact that i took my ambien 3 hours ago and instead of being asleep, I'm hanging out in the living room feeling vaguely like I've taken acid.

I just want to sleep damnit. Oh well.

So now I'm focusing the beef bourguignon I plan to make for dinner tomorrow, well, tonight, if you want to be technical. Any recipe that called for red meat, garlic, and a bottle of red wine should make everything ok again
